Crunchyroll to Stream Hinako Note Anime

Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the Hinako Note anime. The stream will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. EDT for users worldwide except Asia.
Crunchyroll also revealed that its stream for the second season of the new Berserk anime will begin on Friday for users worldwide except in Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. Crunchyroll will debut the first two episodes of the new season on Friday, with the first premiering at 10:30 a.m. EDT and the second premiering at 11:00 a.m. EDT. Future episodes will be available on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
Hinako Note will premiere in Japan on AT-X on April 7 at 9:00 p.m. and also air on Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TVQ Broadcasting, and BS11.
Takeo Takahashi (Rozen Maiden, Spice and Wolf, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers) is credited as the chief director for the anime. Tōru Kitahata (Love, Election and Chocolate, Haganai NEXT) is directing the anime at Passione. Tatsuhiko Urahata (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, GATE) is supervising the series' scripts. Kazuyuki Ueda (Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic, Haitai Nanafa) is adapting the character designs for animation and is also serving as chief animation director. Yukari Hashimoto (March comes in like a lion, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun) is composing the music. Anima & Company (Orange) is producing the series.
M.A.O, Tomita, Ogura, Tōjō, and Kōno perform the opening theme song "Curtain Call!!!!!" and the ending theme song "A-e-i-u-e-o-ao!!" as the musical unit Gekidan Hitotose (Theater Group Hitotose). Hitotose is the name of the bookstore that appears in the series).
The manga centers on titular protagonist Hinako, who is poor at speaking, and lives in a rural part of Japan. She wants to improve her speech to be able to talk to people freely, so in high school, she transfers schools to Tokyo and plans to join a theater club. When she arrives, it turns out her boarding house is a secondhand bookstore, and a girl who loves eating and books lives there.
Mitsuki launched the manga alongside Comic Cune, a former magazine-within-a-magazine supplement for four-panel manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine, in August 2014. When Comic Cune relaunched as a full-fledged standalone magazine in August 2015, the manga relocated to the new magazine. Kadokawa published Hinako Note's third compiled book volume on March 27.
