Unaired Chaos;Child Silent Sky Episode to Screen in Theaters

50-minute "final chapter" episode screens from June 17-30 in 3 theaters

The official website for the Chaos;Child television anime series announced on Friday that the Chaos;Child Silent Sky unaired episode will screen in Japanese theaters for a limited two-week screening from June 17-30.

The episode is 50 minutes long, and the film will screen at Tokyo's Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro, Nagoya's Fushimi Million-za, and Osaka's Umeda Burg theaters. Tickets cost 1,500 yen (about US$13.50).

The anime will be the "final chapter" that will tell the story of "'what happens afterward' for the 'boy' and 'girl.'"

The television anime premiered in Japan on January 11, and ended with the 12th episode on March 29. Crunchyroll streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles as it airs in Japan. Funimation is streaming the English dub.

Funimation describes the series:

Six years after the deadly earthquake and events of ChäoS;HEAd, Tokyo's reconstructed Shibuya district becomes home to another series of mysterious happenings.
An abnormal string of deaths occurs amidst Shibuya's reconstruction, and it isn't until a high school newspaper club member starts to piece together the clues that these cases begin to demonstrate a hauntingly familiar pattern.

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!, Shomin Sample, Nozo × Kimi) directed the anime and also handled series composition. Kazuyuki Yamayoshi served as chief animation director and adapted Mitsumi Sasaki and Yukihiro Matsuo's character designs for animation. SILVER LINK animated the series. Takeshi Abo (Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes) and onoken (Accel World) composed the music.
