Crunchyroll Streams 100% Teacher Pascal, PriPri Chi-chan!! Anime

posted on by Rai Kelly
Both shows premiere streaming Friday

Crunchyroll announced on Friday that will stream the 100% Teacher Pascal (100% Pascal-sensei) and PriPri Chi-chan!! (Puri Puri Chii-chan!!) anime series. Both series will premiere on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. EST, and will be available for Crunchyroll members worldwide outside of Asia.

In Japan, both anime will premiere on Saturday, April 15 on MBS and TBS' new Saturday morning timeslot "Anime Saturday 630" (pronounced "Anime Saturday Roku San Maru"). MBS and TBS had announced in December that they were ending their "Nichigo" Sunday evening anime timeslot in April, and launching a new one-hour anime timeslot on Saturday mornings.

The story of 100% Pascal-sensei centers around an elementary school teacher who is so stupid, he cannot even write his own name. He does whatever he likes in his classroom. Plus, by all appearances, he is not human. The television anime is an adaptation of Yūji Nagai's gag comedy manga.

Yo Miura (Otona Joshi no Anime Time) is directing the anime at OLM. Ryōichi Mori (Peeping Life - The Perfect Edition -) is in charge of series composition and is also credited as creative producer. Kazumi Sato (Pokémon franchise) is designing the characters. Kouichi Iizuka (Spiritpact) is the sound director. Shunsuke Takizawa (The Testament of Sister New Devil) is composing the music at TRYTONELABO.

In March, the anime's official website began streaming the anime's sixth episode as a teaser. The episode is only available until Saturday.

Nagai launched the manga in Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics magazine 2015. A Penguin's Troubles, an earlier manga that Nagai published in Monthly Coro Coro Comics, inspired a 2008 television anime and a 2009 anime movie.

The story of PriPri Chi-chan!! revolves around a girl named Yūka, who encounters a creature named Chii-chan who comes from the depths of the Earth (the name is a pun of chiteijin, the Japanese word for underground dweller), and an alien named Ucchan (a pun of uchūjin or alien). The series follows their heartwarming and chaotic everyday lives together.

The anime is an adaption of Shinozuka's of Puri Puri Chii-chan!! manga. It launched in Shogakukan's Ciao shōjo magazine in March 2015.

Shinozuka's Chibi Devil! manga inspired an anime series in 2011. Her Milmo de Pon! manga also inspired the 172-episode Mirmo Zibang! anime series in 2002-2005.
