posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Show premieres on July 6, airs every Thursday

Animax Asia began streaming a video on Thursday revealing that it will air a simulcast of the television anime adaptation of Kazuya Minekura's Saiyuki Reload Blast manga. The show will begin airing on July 6, and will air every Thursday at 8:00 p.m. GMT +8, with an encore at 11:00 p.m. GMT +8.

Saiyuki Reload Blast will premiere in Japan on July 5 on AT-X at 10:30 p.m., and will then air on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11. The anime will also stream online in Japan on: AbemaTV, Niconico Livestream, GyaO!, Rakuten ShowTime, Video Market, Bandai Channel, Niconico Channel, GyaO! Store, dAnime Store, U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and dTV. The anime will have 12 episodes.

The show's returning cast includes:

New cast members include:

Junichi Suwabe as Saitaisai, a mysterious young man

Chiwa Saito as Taruchie, an unidentified mysterious girl

Kaho Kouda as Crown Prince Nataku

Jin Yamanoi as Dokugakuji

Yūki Kaji as Tamuro, a young man who lives in a western village.

Haruhi Nanao as Rei, a villager whose husband was killed by a ghost, and who's mind is ill.

The anime will be the first Saiyuki anime that Pierrot will not be animating. Platinum Vision (Servamp) is animating the project. Hideaki Nakano is directing the anime, with Kenji Konuta (Library War, Ace of Diamond, Blood Lad) supervising the scripts. Both have worked together in the same positions on the Aoharu x Machinegun and Servamp anime. Youko Satou (Dog & Scissors) is handling the character designs. GRANRODEO is performing the opening theme song "move on! Ibara Michi" (move on! Thorny Road), and Luck Life is performing the ending theme song "Refrain."

Minekura serializes the manga irregularly in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine. She slowed down her publication of the series and the Wild Adapter manga in 2013 due to her health.

Saiyuki Reload Blast is the sequel to Minekura's Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload manga series. She launched the series in Comic Zero Sum in 2009. Ichijinsha published the manga's second compiled book volume in 2014. The manga series has also spawned the Saiyuki Gaiden and Saiyuki Ibun manga spinoffs.

Animax Asia's sister channel AXN Asia aired the Saiyuki anime in Southeast Asia. Animax Asia aired the Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Gunlock anime in Southeast Asia.
