Hajimete no Gal Manga's 5th Volume Listed With Original Anime on Blu-ray

5th volume listed with December release

Amazon is listing a limited edition of the fifth compiled book volume of Meguru Ueno's Hajimete no Gal (First-Time Gal) manga with an original anime on Blu-ray Disc. The description states that the anime will have the same cast and staff as the upcoming television anime adaptation, and the story will focus on the school cultural festival. The volume is listed with a December 26 release date.

A flyer from this year's AnimeJapan 2017 event revealed in March that the anime will get an OVA episode in addition to the television anime's 10 episodes.

The romantic comedy manga begins with Junichi "Jun" Hashiba, an uncool high school student who frets about wanting to lose his virginity. Egged on by his friends, Jun gets on his knees and confesses his love to a classmate named Yukana Yame. The confession surprisingly works and the couple goes out. However, Jun finds himself in uncharted waters with Yame, a trendy and fashion-conscious "gal" (gyaru).

Ueno launched the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in November 2015. Kadokawa published the fourth volume on Monday.

The television anime will premiere on July 12 on AT-X at 11:00 p.m., and will air later that evening on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and Mie TV Broadcasting. The series will then later air on Gifu Broadcasting, KBS Kyoto, and BS11.

The anime will star:

Hiroyuki Furukawa (My Wife is the Student Council President, Sin Strange Plus) is directing the anime and designing the characters at NAZ (Hamatora). Yūichirō Momose ("Sakura Internet Shinsei" net series) is handing series composition. Yashikin (Anime De Training! Xx!) is composing the music at MAGES.

Junjō no Afilia' will perform the anime's opening theme "Hajimete no Season," and Erabareshi will perform the show's ending theme song "Galtic Love."
