Morning screening as part of film programme presented by Japan Foundation

The Japan Foundation has announced two days of free Japanese live-action films in July, which include a screening of the live-action version of Hiromu Arakawa's Silver Spoon on Saturday July 22 at 11 a.m. This particular screening will be at BAFTA in Piccadilly (195 Piccadilly, near Piccadilly underground station).

Booking is required for the screenings. To book a place, please visit http://www.jpf.org.uk/whatson.php#943 and click the links at the bottom. The Silver Spoon screening is in 'part two' of the event.

The film is described on the website as follows: 'At a vocational high school for dairy farming in Hokkaido, where students can try their hands at farming, city boy Yugo, whose decision to enrol was an attempt to avoid his parents and classmates, is struggling to adapt to his new “nature-oriented” surroundings.'

The 'Part Two' screenings at BAFTA on Saturday July 22 are Silver Spoon at 11 a.m., There is No Lid on the Sea (based on a story by manga writer Banana Yoshimoto) at 1.10 p.m., and A Drop of the Grapevine at 2.55 p.m.

The earlier 'Part One' screenings take place at the Prince Charles Cinema on Saturday July 15. The films are Oyster Farm at 12 noon and Akanezora - Beyond the Crimson Sky at 2.45 p.m.
