Fate/Grand Order Manga Project Launches With 2 Manga Series

Ichijinsha opened a website on June 28 for a new manga project based on Type-Moon and Aniplex's Fate/Grand Order smartphone game. The project will involve two manga published in two different magazines. The first manga, titled Fate/Grand Order -mortalis:stella-, will launch in the September issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine on July 28. Shiramine (Tales of Zestiria manga) is drawing the manga. The first chapter will have a color opening page and the manga will feature on the magazine's front cover.
Kodansha launched a website for the second manga, titled Fate/Grand Order: Turas Réalta-, on Friday. The manga will launch in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in its September issue on August 9. Takeshi Kawabuchi is drawing the manga. The first chapter will feature a color opening page.
Ichijinsha and Kodansha's websites noted that, while both manga will have an introductory chapter, a first chapter, and an end chapter, the chapter numbers will differ for each manga. Fate/Grand Order -mortalis:stella- will have chapters two, four, and six, while Fate/Grand Order: Turas Réalta- will have chapters three, five, and seven. The visuals for both manga show the game's male protagonist and Mash in different clothing but parallel poses, surrounded by different Servants.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed Shiramine's manga adaptation of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tales of Zestiria game. The publisher released the manga's first volume on June 13. The manga launched in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine in 2015, and it ended last August. Ichijinsha published the manga's fourth and final compiled volume in Japan last September.
Aniplex released the Fate/Grand Order game in Japan in summer 2015 and it has been downloaded more than 9 million times. The game received an English release in the United States and Canada on June 25. The game received more than 100,000 downloads in the first 12 hours after launching. A 74-minute television anime based on the game titled Fate/Grand Order: First Order aired in Japan on December 31. Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the special the same day. Aniplex of America will release the special on Blu-ray Disc in North America on October 24 with Japanese and English audio.
