posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Streaming begins on Tuesday at 9 a.m. EDT for Smartphone, 10 a.m. for New Game!!

Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream the second anime season based on Shōtarō Tokunō's New Game! manga (titled New Game!!, with an added second exclamation mark), as well as the television anime of Patora Fuyuhara's In Another World With My Smartphone (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.) light novel series. The streaming for New Game!! will begin on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. EDT, while In Another World With My Smartphone will begin on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. EDT. Both are available worldwide outside of Asia.

Crunchyroll is streaming an English-subtitled promotional video for both series.

In the original New Game!! workplace manga, the main character Aoba Suzukaze graduates from high school and joins a game company. The person who made the game that Aoba loved as a grade-schooler just happens to be Aoba's senior at the company. The story follows girls who work and aspire at the Eaglejump company.

The group fourfolium, composed of the four main voice actresses Yūki Takada, Ayumi Takeo, Megumi Toda, and Megumi Yamaguchi as their respective characters, is performing the anime's opening theme song "STEP by STEP UP↑↑↑↑," and the ending theme song "JUMPin' JUMP UP!!!!".

The first television anime premiered last July, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The first season had 12 episodes. Those who purchase all six of the Blu-ray Disc or DVD volumes of the anime can submit proof-of-purchase stubs to receive a new OVA, which serves as "episode 13" of the series.

Tokunō launched the manga in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Charat magazine in 2013, and Houbunsha will publish the sixth volume on June 27. The manga and anime also inspired a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita video game by 5pb. Games that shipped in Japan on January 26. The game featured the same cast from the first season of the anime.

Digital publishing company J-Novel Club has been releasing chapters of the novel In Another World With My Smartphone weekly since February, and is also releasing the volumes as e-books. It describes the story:

After a freak accident involving some lightning winds up zapping him dead, 15-year-old Mochizuki Touya wakes up to find himself face-to-face with God. “I am afraid to say that I have made a bit of a blunder...” laments the old coot. But all is not lost! God says that he can reincarnate Touya into a world of fantasy, and as a bonus, he gets to bring his smartphone along with! So begins Touya's adventure in a new, anachronistic pseudo-medieval world. Friends! Laughs! Tears! Inexplicable Deus ex Machina! He sets off on a journey full of wonder as he absentmindedly travels from place to place, following whatever goal catches his fancy. The curtains lift on an epic tale of swords, sorcery, and smartphone apps!

AŌP is contributing the song "Another World" as the opening theme song. The characters Elze, Linze, Yae, Yumina, Sushie, and Leen are each singing different versions of the ending theme song "Junjō Emotional" (Pure Emotional).

Fuyuhara launched the In Another World With My Smartphone series in 2013 on the Shōsetsu-ka ni Narou ("Let's Be Novelists") website, and Hobby Japan's Novels label published the first volume with illustrations by Eiji Usatsuka in 2015. Hobby Japan published the ninth volume on June 22. The series has more than 200,000 copies in print.
