Indonesian Film Censorship Board Lists Noragami Anime

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Anime based on Adachitoka manga premiered in 2014, 2nd season in 2015

The Indonesian Film Censorship Board registered seven out of 12 episodes of the Noragami anime on August 4. The entry indicates that Indonesian television channel Global TV applied for the registration.

The anime adapts Adachitoka's manga of the same name. The manga's story centers on Yato — a down-on-his-luck minor god who wants more worshipers to make it big in the society of gods — and Hiyori Iki, a high school girl who crosses paths with Yato one day. Due to an incident involving Yato, Hiyori finds that her soul frequently slips out of her body. While Yato takes odd jobs to earn money and renown, Hiyori charges him to find a way to return her body to normal. In the meantime, Yato and Hiyori keep having supernatural encounter after encounter, from other gods both friend and foe, and malicious creatures born from humans' negative emotions.

The 12-episode television anime premiered in January 2014. Noragami Aragoto, the anime's second season, premiered in October 2015.

The duo under the pen name Adachitoka launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2010, and Kodansha published the manga's 18th compiled book volume on February 17. Elex Media Komputindo publishes the manga in Indonesia, and it shipped the 17th volume on June 21. The manga has been on hiatus since the beginning of April. While the manga and the authors initially planned to return in early May, the hiatus has since been extended indefinitely.
