Final Fantasy XV Game Gets PC Release in Early 2018

Latest update with Magitek Exosuits debuted in July

Nvidia and Square Enix revealed at a press event at Gamescom in Germany on Monday that the Final Fantasy XV game will get a release for Windows PC via Steam and Origin in early 2018. Nvidia GeForce began streaming a promotional video for the release on Monday.

The port will feature 4K resolution with advanced visuals. The release will include all DLC released for the game so far.

Square Enix released the Magitek Exosuit DLC costumes, which were delayed in February due to their similarity to the Power Rangers suit designs, in the game with a free update in July. The staff redesigned the suits to monochrome gray to reduce the similarity to Power Rangers suits.

Square Enix released the "Episode Prompto" story DLC for the game on June 27. The new story episode is the second in a series of story episodes focusing on each of the main characters of Final Fantasy XV. An episode focused on Ignis is slated for December. Square Enix released the "Episode Gladiolus" story episode on March 28.

Naoshi Mizuta (Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XIII-2) served as guest composer for "Episode Prompto." Keiichi Okabe (NieR:Automata) composed for the Gladiolus DLC.

Final Fantasy XV went on sale worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last November.

The game's director Hajime Tabata stated that the game broke even with development costs on "day one." As of January 10, the game had sold more than 6 million copies worldwide. The number includes physical shipments and download sales.

Update: Nvidia's official video embedded.
