WHITE FOX animates new promo video

A stage event at the "MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2017" event on Sunday revealed that author Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrator Shinichirou Otsuka's Re:Zero light novel series is getting a new anime episode in the form of an OVA. Kadokawa also began streaming a promotional video for the new anime.

In the below video, Subaru says he can't deal with it anymore and he's at his limit, and Emilia thinks it has to do with his curse. The video then changes to Subaru making something with Rem and Ram. When Emilia asks what the three of them are making, Rem answers that they're making an OVA.

WHITE FOX is returning to animate the OVA. The returning cast includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Subaru, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, and Inori Minase as Rem. The anime's official website will reveal more details about the story and release at a later date.

Nagatsuki launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012, and Kadokawa will publish the 14th novel in the series on September 25. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English, and is also releasing Daichi Matsuse's manga adaptation of the series, as well as the Re:Zero Ex spinoff light novel series.

The 25-episode Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- anime adaptation premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Crunchyroll is also streaming both the Re:Zero ~Starting Break Time From Zero~ and Re:PETIT ~Starting Life in Another World from PETIT~ short anime spinoff series.

The light novels inspired a video game titled Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu -Death or Kiss by 5pb. Games that shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 30.
