Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets, TRI4TH perform theme songs

The Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens stage panel at the "Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten 2017" (Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival 2017) event in Tokyo announced on Sunday that the television anime of Chiaki Kisaki and Hako Ichiiro's Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens (Hakata Pork Bones Ramens) light novel series will premiere in January 2018. The anime will air on Tokyo MX and other channels.

The official website for the series also began streaming a promotional video on Sunday.

The event revealed more cast members, including:

Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets will perform the opening theme song "Stray." The group previously performed theme songs for both seasons of GATE, Alderamin on the Sky, Highschool of the Dead, and Strike the Blood. TRI4TH, a five-member male jazz band that formed in 2006, are performing the ending theme song.

The previously revealed cast members include:

Kenji Yasuda (Arata The Legend, Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth - The Animation) is directing the anime at Satelight. Shogo Yasukawa (Terraformars, Alderamin on the Sky) is handling series composition, Hidenori Inoue is designing the characters, and Kotaro Nakagawa (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Hayate the Combat Butler) is composing the music. Yoshikazu Iwanami (Fate/Zero, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) is the sound director.

The story of the novels takes place in Fukuoka. At first glance, the city seems like a peaceful one, but under the surface, crime is running rampant. The city's Hakata ward is home to the professionals of the underworld: professional killers, detectives, informants, professional revenge seekers, those skilled in torture, and more. And according to urban legend, even a "killer of professional killers" exists in the city. When stories of the men in the underworld are told, a "professional killer murder" appears.

The novel series won the first prize for the 20th Dengeki Novel Awards. Kisaki and Ichiiro launched the novel series in 2014, and Kadokawa published the seventh novel on July 25. The novel series also has a collaboration novel with Ryohgo Narita's Durarara!! novel series.

Kisara Akino launched the first manga adaptation in G Fantasy magazine in July 2016, and ended it on May 18. Square Enix published the manga's second and final compiled volume on July 25. A new manga adaptation titled Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens Dai 2-Shō (Chapter 2) launched from artist Chiako Nagaoka on August 18.

The anime is part of Dengeki's 25th anniversary celebrations this year.
