K: Seven Stories 6-Episode Theatrical Anime Project Reveals Trailer, Release Dates

Episodes open each month from July-December 2018

King Records began streaming a short trailer on Thursday for K: Seven Stories, a theatrical anime project and the newest anime in GoRA and GoHands' K franchise. The below trailer previews angela's theme song "Seven Stories."

The six-episode theatrical anime project will open in Japan starting in July 2018 with the following episodes and dates:

  • Episode 1 R:B ~Blaze~ opens on July 7
  • Episode 2 SIDE:BLUE ~Tenrō no Gotoku (Like Sirius) opens on August 4
  • Episode 3 SIDE:GREEN ~Uwagaki Sekai~ (The Overwritten World) opens on September 1
  • Episode 4 Lost Small World ~Ori no Mukō ni (To the Other Side of the Cage) opens on October 6
  • Episode 5 Memory of Red ~BURN~ opens on November 3
  • Episode 6 Circle Vision ~Nameless Song~ opens on December 1

A short spinoff movie titled The Idol K will screen alongside each episode.

K: Memory of Red is a title of a manga in the franchise, and K SIDE:BLUE, K:SIDE:GREEN, and K: R:B are titles of novels in the franchise. K―Lost Small World― is both a novel and a manga. Idol K is a parody book that reimagines if the characters in the franchise were all idols. The sixth episode will tell a new story.

Shingo Suzuki is returning as director and character designer at the studio GoHands the anime. GoRA and GoHands are once again credited for the original story. GoRA is also credited with writing and oveerseing the series scripts. Mikio Endo is again composing the music.

The original 13-episode K television anime series aired in Japan starting in October 2012. The anime inspired the K: Missing Kings sequel film in July 2014, and then the 13-episode K: Return of Kings television anime series premiered in October 2015.

Viz Media licensed the original K anime series, K: Missing Kings, and K: Return of Kings. Hulu and Neon Alley streamed the first K anime series and the K: Return of Kings sequel series.

Aside from various novels, CDs, and manga, the franchise has also inspired a series of stage plays. The first stage play, titled Butai K, ran in Tokyo from August through October 2014. The second play, titled K Dai-ni-Shō: Arousal of King, ran in Tokyo and Osaka in August 2015. The third play, K―Lost Small World―, ran in Tokyo in July 2016. The fourth play, K: Missing Kings, will run in Kyoto from October 19-22 and in Tokyo from October 26-29.
