posted on by Egan Loo
Visual, compilation of TV anime/Anzio OVA also revealed before film's December 9 opening

A fifth anniversary livestream event for the Girls und Panzer franchise revealed more details on the first film in the six-film Girls und Panzer das Finale project on Saturday. The event unveiled new characters from BC Freedom High School and their cast members (from left to right in image below):

Yumi Hara as Mary
Minami Tsuda as Andō
Chika Anzai as Oshida
Ayane Sakura as "Mysterious New Character"

The event also revealed a new key visual for the episode:

A compilation of the previous television anime series and the Girls und Panzer: This is the Real Anzio Battle! original video anime project will be available via paid streams on various sites on November 11. Although the streams are in stereo, the staff is producing the compilation with 5.1ch sound. The Anglerfish Team is narrating the compilation.

The first of the six Girls und Panzer das Finale episodes will open in 59 Japanese theaters on December 9.

The Finale anime project will also have immersive 4DX and MX4D screenings, after the project's second episode ends its initial run of regular screenings. Each of the immersive screenings will combine two episodes; the first ones will combine the first and second episodes. The next set of immersive screenings will combine the third and fourth episodes, and the last set will combine the fifth and sixth episodes.

Sayaka Sasaki is performing the opening theme song "Grand symphony" for the first three episodes. Sasaki previously performed the "Anglerfish Dance" song that is part of the original television anime's story. ChouCho, who performed the opening theme song for the television anime and the 2015 film, is returning as the opening theme song artist for the project's last three episodes.

The earlier Girls und Panzer der Film anime opened in November 21, 2015, and continued playing in theaters for over a full year. The film shipped on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in Japan in May 2016, and the release came with a new OVA that takes place after the events of the movie, as well as an episode of the "Akiyama Yukari no Sensha Kōza" (Yukari Akiyama's Tank Lecture) shorts. The film will air in Japan on various channels on November 23 and December 2.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the 2015 film, and the company collaborated with Eleven Arts to release the film theatrically in the United States in November 2016 with an English dub. Sentai Filmworks released the film on home video on May 16.

The original television anime series aired for 12 episodes in 2012-2013. Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video.

The franchise also includes the upcoming Girls und Panzer Dream Tank Match PlayStation 4 game. Bandai Namco Entertainment will ship the game in Japan and in Southeast Asia (with English text) this winter.
