The SSSS.Gridman production unveiling event at Tokyo Comic Con revealed on Saturday the upcoming anime's lead voice cast member, main staff, and fall 2018 television premiere. The event also unveiled a teaser promotional video and a new visual:

Voice actor Hikaru Midorikawa appeared in a video message at the event to confirm he is playing the titular Gridman role.

As previously announced, Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer, earlier 2015 "Denkō Chōjin Gridman boy invent great hero" short) is directing this collaboration between the anime studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions — the creator of the Ultraman franchise and the original 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu (special-effects) series Denkō Chōjin Gridman. In addition, Keiichi Hasegawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis, 009-1: The End of the Beginning, Zoids) is writing the scripts, and Tsuburaya Productions' Masayuki Gotou (Baton, recent Ultraman franchise installments) is designing the Gridman.

At this year's Anime Expo in July, Trigger revealed the new anime's title as Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad Gridman, and emphasized that the anime will have an original story not directly related to the earlier live-action series.

The original live-action Denkō Chōjin Gridman debuted in 1993, 12 years after Tsuburaya Productions' last major live-action tokusatsu television series, Ultraman 1980. The story is set in the "Computer World" where war is waging in computers. Three middle-school boys support the hero Gridman in his battles through their personal computers.

Olympusat, Inc.'s television channel TOKU announced on Wednesday that it will run the original Gridman television series starting on December 18. The run will mark the show's American premiere. In Japan, a Blu-ray box will ship on December 20. The franchise will hold an event on January 8 with the staff and cast of both the live-action and anime iterations.
