14-Year-Old Singer Ruann Performs March comes in like a lion's New Ending

Junior high school student's new song premieres in January

The official website for the second season of the March comes in like a lion anime series revealed on Tuesday that Ruann will perform the new ending theme song "I Am Standing" that will premiere in the series in January. The singer wrote the song specifically for the show, and its digital single will launch on January 17.

Ruann is a 14-year-old junior high school student from Osaka. She began singing and dancing as a young child and then began studying English and Korean. She is mostly self-taught in acoustic guitar and piano. She gained popularity on social media and released her first original EP spice 13 acoustic EP in June. Ruann previously performed in Japan and the United States, and she held her first solo concert in October.

Unison Square Garden (Welcome to the Ballroom, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Tiger & Bunny) will perform the anime's new opening theme song "Haru ga Kite Bokura."

The second season premiered on NHK on October 14, and Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs. The show will have 22 episodes.

The second season features a returning staff, including director Akiyuki Simbo, character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama, art director Seiki Tamura, art setting designer Yasuhiro Nakura, sound director Toshiki Kameyama, composer Yukari Hashimoto, and animation studio SHAFT. YUKI is performing the current opening theme song "Flag wo Tateru" (Raise the Flag), and Brian the Sun is performing the current ending theme song "Kafune."

The first March comes in like a lion television anime series premiered on NHK in Japan in October 2016. Crunchyroll and Daisuki both streamed the anime as it aired. The first season also had 22 episodes.

The story follows Rei, a solitary player of shōgi (a Japanese board game related to Western chess), and his relationships with a neighboring family. He becomes acquainted with Akari, and two young girls, Hinata and Momo, who also have have a large number of cats.
