Satelight, J.C. Staff, Doga Kobo to produce Project Anima series based on submitted ideas

The electronic and mobile commerce company DeNA, the advertising agency and sponsor Sotsu Co., Ltd., and the radio station Nippon Cultural Broadcasting are collaborating to make original anime. Under their Project Anima, the three companies aim to make three television anime in different genres for the 2020 broadcast season. Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish) drew the project's main visual:

Project Anima is accepting story submissions from the general public through DeNA's MangaBox, Everystar, and similar user-submitted content platforms. The submissions will be in three categories, including one for science fiction and robot anime. Satelight (Macross, Aquarion, Symphogear), J.C. Staff (A Certain Magical Index, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Children of the Whales), and Doga Kobo (Majestic Prince) will animate the winning submissions.

Project Anima plans to allow submissions in the form of novels, scripts, manga drafts, thumbnail sketches, illustrations, videos, and other formats. It will also accept submissions from both professional and amateur creators, as well as from both individuals and groups such as companies. In addition to the television anime adaptations, the three main partners and the collaborating productions companies will explore other adaptations for the winning entries such as books, manga, and games.

Project Anima will accept submissions for the first category, science fiction and robot anime, from February 1 to April 15. There will be no limitations on the world setting or story timeframe, as long as the concepts have the theme of science fiction or robotic mecha.

Project Anima's official website and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting's Everystar/Mangabox presents Toyonaga, Komatsu, Mikami no Mayonaka no Radio Bungei-bu (Everystar/Mangabox presents Toyonaga, Komatsu, & Mikami's Evening Radio Literary Club) program on January 4 will provide more information on the submission process and future prospects for the project.
