Log Horizon: The West Wind Brigade Manga to End in 2 Chapters

posted on by Bayleigh Baker
Spinoff manga began in 2012

Manga artist Koyuki announced on Twitter on Tuesday that her Log Horizon: The West Wind Brigade manga with writer Mamare Touno will end in two more chapters. The 63rd chapter debuted in the February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine on Tuesday.

Log Horizon: The West Wind Brigade (Log Horizon - Nishikaze no Ryodan) is a side story of the Log Horizon novels that follows Sojiro and the members of the West Wind Brigade.

Koyuki and Touno launched the spinoff manga in 2012, and it serialized on Kadokawa's Age Premium website until the monthly digital comic magazine ceased publication in July 2015. The manga then transferred to Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine. Kadokawa released the 10th compiled volume of the manga digitally on November 9.

Yen Press licensed the manga and released the seventh compiled volume in North America on November 21. The eighth volume will ship on February 27, followed by the ninth on July 24.

The story of the original Log Horizon novels begins when 30,000 Japanese gamers are trapped in the fantasy online game world Elder Tale. What was once a "sword-and-sorcery world" is now the "real world." Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Akasuki join together to survive.

Yen Press released the ninth volume of the original novel series on October 31, and the 10th will ship February 27. The company also released the first volume of the manga adaptation by Kazuhiro Hara. Sentai Filmworks released both seasons of the anime adaptation on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
