Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen Anime Shorts Get New Series

New series to air alongside Humanoid Monster Bem rebroadcast

The official website for the Yōkai Ningen Bem (Humanoid Monster Bem) franchise revealed on Thursday that a new anime titled Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen G will premiere alongside a rebroadcast of the 2006 Humanoid Monster Bem anime on April 4. The double feature will premiere on Tokyo MX on April 4 at 26:05 (effectively 2:05 a.m. on April 5), and it will debut on BS11 on April 9.

The preview video focuses on the rebroadcast, but also shows Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen G at the end.

The cast of DLE's previous Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen gag anime shorts will reprise their roles in Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen G. Yuzuru Adachi is again directing the series at DLE.

The broadcast will be the second part of the 50th anniversary project for the franchise. In addition, a television special about the franchise's 50th anniversary will premiere on Tokyo MX on March 28 at 11:30 p.m., and will also air on BS11 on April 2.

In the original 1968-1969 anime, Bem, Bera, and Bero are ugly humanoid monsters (yōkai) who fight for justice. The monsters live among humans and protect them from evil yōkai. The three find themselves ostracized from both humans and other yōkai, but the three continue to fight in hopes of one day becoming humans themselves.

The 26-episode remake series aired in 2006. The anime inspired a 10-episode live-action television series starring KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi in 2011, and then a live-action film with the same cast in December 2012.

The Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen anime premiered last October along with a rebroadcast of the original anime.
