Discotek Licenses Wild 7: Another TV Anime

Discotek Media announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the television anime Wild 7: Another (Wild 7: Swirling Canal) and plans to release the series on DVD on July 31. The release will have Japanese audio and English subtitles.
Discotek is also running a poll on Twitter and Facebook asking customers if they are willing to pay more for classic anime if there is an English dub.
The 13-episode Wild 7: Another anime series premiered in 2002. Media Blasters announced a license for the anime, but it has not previously been released in North America.
Discotek describes the story:
When the Ancient Militia, a group of heavily armed terrorists, takes over the cruise ship Double Sea, a counterstrike team is put together behind the scenes to save the hostages, all VIPs from the international business world. The team leader is Japo, an amnesiac former mercenary with a heroic yet tragic past. He tracks down six other highly talented misfits from academia, law enforcement, and Hell Island, a mercenary training community. As these members of the newly-formed Team Wild train and clash with each other, the terrorists release a deadly plague on the ship and execute passengers whose companies fail to please. They also have a penchant for setting off explosives on board, which hints at a deeper motive. Eventually, skullduggery gives way to all-out action as the Wild 7 storm the Double Sea on motorcycles in a desperate bid to save the hostages before the ship goes down with everyone on board.
Mikiya Mochizuki's police action manga Wild 7 serialized from 1969 to 1979 in Shonengahosha's Weekly Shōnen King magazine, and he went on to create several sequel manga. In addition to the television anime, the story inspired a controversial but highly rated 1972-1973 live-action television series, a 1994-1995 original video anime (OVA) project, and a 2011 live-action film.
