posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Film compiling TV anime, OVA screens in 110 theaters in Japan starting on September 29

Bandai Namco Arts began streaming a trailer on Thursday for Girls und Panzer: Dai 63 Kai Sensha-dō Zenkoku Kōkōsei Taikai Sōshūhen (Girls & Panzer: 63rd National High School Sensha-dō Tournament Compilation), a two-hour film that compiles the Girls und Panzer television anime and OVA.

The film will screen in 110 theaters in Japan beginning on September 29. In addition to regular screenings, the compilation will get 4DX and MX4D screenings. With the 4DX and MX4D systems, certain theaters have motion seats that move in sync with certain action sequences onscreen. Similarly, effects such as scents, wind, and mist operate in accordance with action onscreen.

The Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of the compilation shipped in Japan on February 23.

The original television anime series aired for 12 episodes in 2012-2013. The Girls und Panzer der Film anime film followup opened in Japan in November 2015.

The first film in the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film project opened in Japan in December 2017. The second film will open in June 2019. The Finale anime project will also have immersive 4DX and MX4D screenings, after the project's second episode ends its initial run of regular screenings. Each of the immersive screenings will combine two episodes; the first ones will combine the first and second episodes. The next set of immersive screenings will combine the third and fourth episodes, and the last set will combine the fifth and sixth episodes.
