Famitsu.com revealed on Tuesday that Sega's BLADE ARCUS from Shining EX 2D fighting game will get a sequel titled BLADE ARCUS Rebellion from Shining. The game will ship on March 14 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Sega opened a website for the game on Thursday, and it is streaming a teaser for the game.
While the first game featured characters from the Shining Blade and Shining Hearts games, with Sonia as the sole character from the Shining Resonance Refrain game, the new game will add more characters from Shining Resonance Refrain, including Yuma, Kirika, Excela, Rinna, and Zest.
The game will also release with a limited edition that includes an art book, a drama CD, a theme song CD, an exclusive costume for Kirika, and an A3 poster.
BLADE ARCUS from Shining EX was a console port of Sega's BLADE ARCUS from Shining arcade fighting game, which is a spinoff of its Shining role-playing games. Sega shipped BLADE ARCUS from Shining EX for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan in November 2015, and launched a PC version via Steam in July 2016.
Illustrator Tony designed the game's characters. Toshinobu Kondō directed the game at Studio Saizensen.
