The official website for Kakegurui××, the second anime season based on Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura's Kakegurui manga, began streaming the anime's second promotional video on Thursday. The video previews the anime's opening theme song "Kono Yubi Tomare" by JUNNA, and also reveals the anime's January 8 premiere.

The video reveals Romi Park as the anime original character Rei "Batsubami."

The site and video also revealed that D-selections will perform the anime's ending theme song "AlegriA." TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is composing and writing the lyrics for the song.

The anime will premiere on MBS on January 8 at 26:30 (effectively January 9), and will also premiere on TV Aichi on January 9; on Tokyo MX, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and BS NTV on January 13; and will begin streaming on Netflix in Japan on January 10.

Previously announced new cast members include:

Yasuko Kobayashi and Manabu Akita are returning as writer and character designer, respectively. MAPPA is again handling the animation. The anime also features a returning cast. JUNNA will perform the opening theme song "Kono Yubi Tomare" for the anime.

The first season premiered on television and Netflix in Japan in July 2017. The series premiered outside of Japan on Netflix in February.

Yen Press is releasing the original manga in English under the title Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler, and it describes the series:

Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you're the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it's not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It's reading your opponent, the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she's gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!

A 10-episode live-action show premiered in Japan in January, and Netflix is streaming the series outside of Japan. A second live-action season and a live-action film will premiere in spring 2019.
