Company to stream series with home video release to follow

Sentai Filmworks announced on Saturday that it has licensed the distribution rights for the television anime adaptation of Kei Sasuga's Domestic Girlfriend (Domestic na Kanojo) manga for audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and other select territories. The company will stream the series on "select digital outlets" with a home video release to follow.

The anime will premiere in Japan on January 11 on MBS and TBS at 1:55 a.m. (effectively January 12), and will then air on January 12 at 1:00 a.m. (effectively January 13) on BS-TBS. The anime will also exclusively stream on Amazon Prime Video in Japan.

Sentai Filmworks describes the series:

Natsuo is a high school boy who is experiencing the crushing despair of unrequited love. To make matters worse, the person he is in love with is his teacher, Hina. In an attempt to lift his spirits, he attends a mixer where he meets a girl named Rui. The two sleep together, expecting never to see one another again, but fate has other plans. His life suddenly becomes more complicated when his father comes home and announces he has remarried a woman with two daughters whom Natsuo has met before: Hina and Rui!

Shōta Ihata (Girlish Number) is directing the anime at diomedéa, while Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Eromanga Sensei, Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko) is in charge of the series scripts. Naomi Ide (Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they?, Gingitsune, KanColle) is designing the characters. Masato Kōda (KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! both seasons and film) is composing the music at Flying Dog.

Minami is performing the opening theme song "Kawaki wo Ameku," and Arisa Takigawa is performing the ending theme song "Wagamama" (Selfish).
