Nobunaga Sensei no Osanazuma Anime Reveals More Cast, April 8 Debut

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the television anime of Azure Konno's Nobunaga Sensei no Osanazuma (Mr. Nobunaga's Young Bride) manga revealed four more cast members and the April 8 premiere date for the anime on Friday. The new cast members include: (Note: Character name romanizations are not official)

Konomi Yūzaki as Mayu Biwajima, Nobunaga's student who harbors secret affections for him. She is into boys love stories. She constantly hears a voice talking from inside of her, and it seems like she has her own circumstances to deal with.

Marika Tanaka as Yuri Hoshigaoka, a teacher and Nobunaga's colleague. People often pay attention to her large and beautiful breasts. Like Mayu Biwajima, she often hears a voice talking from inside of her.

Moe Toyota as Anna Atsuta, Nobunaga's student, and a friend of Mayu. She exhibits no shame, and often reproaches Nobunaga.

Suzuna Kinoshita as Ichika Oda, Nobunaga's sister, who is often constantly worried about her daydreaming brother.

Previously announced cast members include: (Note: Historical characters' names are written in Japanese order with family name first.)

Kōdai Sakai as Nobunaga Oda, a teacher who loves playing visual novels. He often daydreams of being surrounded by girls in a harem situation, just like in visual novels. But for someone who hasn't even had a girlfriend, harems are far out of reach. He is a descendant of the historical Oda Nobunaga, and his students often call him "Nobunaga-Sensei."

Akari Uehara as Saitō Kichō, a 14-year old girl who came from Japan's Warring States period. When she was about to marry Oda Nobunaga in a political marriage, she suddenly found herself in the present. Historically, she is Oda Nobunaga's legal wife. She mistakes Nobunaga for the historical Oda Nobunaga, and attempts to bind herself to him through marriage.

Ari Ozawa as Ikoma Kitsuno, Oda Nobunaga's concubine, who has found herself thrust into modern times. Historically, she passed away at the age of 29, but she came to the present time in her younger days, and now seeks to rekindle her ties to Nobunaga. Nobunaga seems to catch a chill whenever he touches Kitsuno.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX on April 8 at 12:00 a.m. (effectively April 9).

The romantic comedy manga's story centers on Nobunaga, a middle school teacher who constantly dreams of an adoring beautiful girl appearing in front of him. One day, Kichō, the 14-year-old wife of the real-life Sengoku (Warring States) period warlord Oda Nobunaga, does appear in front of him after having apparently traveled through time. She mistakes the present-day Nobunaga for the historical Oda Nobunaga, and tries to get him to get her pregnant.

Noriyoshi Sasaki (Ojisan to Marshmallow, My Wife is the Student Council President+!, King's Game The Animation, Holmes of Kyoto) is directing the anime at the studio Seven. Arikura Arika (Shūdengo, Capsule Hotel de, Jōshi ni Binetsu Tsutawaru Yoru.) is in charge of the series scripts. Takashi Nishikawa (animation director on Strange+, Holmes of Kyoto) is designing the characters.

Voice actress unit Pyxis will perform the show's opening theme song "Aiseyo Minna, Hai!" Pyxis is made up of voice actresses Moe Toyota and Miku Itō. Aki Hata wrote the lyrics, and Tom-H@ck composed and arranged the song.

Konno (Koe de Oshigoto!) launched the manga in Futabasha's Monthly Action magazine in May 2017. Futabasha published the manga's third compiled book volume in December.
