Philippine channel ABS-CBN announced on Sunday that it will air the My Hero Academia anime on the channel beginning on April 7 at 9:15 a.m. GMT +8. The commercial did not specify which season the channel will air.

Kōhei Horikoshi launched the superhero manga series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014. Shueisha published the manga's 22nd compiled book volume on February 4.

The manga has inspired three television anime series. A fourth season is in the works, and will premiere in October. The 25-episode third series premiered last April. Animax Asia aired simulcasts of the first two seasons in Southeast Asia as they aired in Japan.

ABS-CBN's Yey! channel also aired the first two seasons of the anime with a Filipino dub beginning in May last year.

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, the franchise's first theatrical film, opened in Japan last August, and earned 500,320,000 yen (about US$4.49 million) in its first three days to rank #4 in its opening weekend. The movie has since earned more than 1.64 billion yen (about US$14.47 million) at the Japanese box office. Odex screened the film in the Philippines last October. A new film is slated to debut this winter in Japan.
