Fate spinoff mystery anime will premiere in July

The official website for Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note, the anime adaptation of Makoto Sanda's Lord El-Melloi II-sei no Jikenbo (The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II) mystery novel spinoff series for Type-Moon's Fate franchise, confirmed on Sunday that ASCA will perform the anime's ending theme song. ASCA previously performed the second ending theme song for the Fate/Apocrypha anime, and she announced the new theme song news herself at the "ASCA Live 2019 -Zettai Reido-" concert on Sunday.

The series will premiere in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and MBS in July 2019. "Episode 0" of the anime premiered during the television special on December 31.

Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs in Japan. "Episode 0" is available in North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

The anime will adapt the "Rail Zeppelin" story from the novels and also include original content, with the original content airing for the show's first half, and the "Rail Zeppelin" story airing for the show's second half.

Makoto Katō (Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation-, Bloom Into You) is directing the series at TROYCA. Ukyō Kodachi (Chaos Dragon, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) is in charge of series composition. Jun Nakai (GATE, Silver Spoon) is designing the characters. Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero director) is credited as supervisor.

The novels center on the titular character Lord El-Melloi II, the adult Waver Velvet from Fate/Zero, and successor of Kayneth, as well as Lord El-Melloi II's apprentice Gray. The story takes place in the Clock Tower, the Mage's Association's headquarters in England. There, Lord El-Melloi II and Gray solve various mysteries of a magical nature surrounding the Mage's Association.

Sanda published the first novel in the series in December 2014. The ninth novel shipped on December 31, and the 10th and final novel will debut on May 17. Tō Azuma launched a manga adaptation of the novels in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in October 2017, and Kadokawa published the manga's the third volume on January 10. A stage play adaptation has been green-lit for this winter.
