Live-Action Gisō Furin Series Reveals 7 More Cast Members

The staff of the live-action television series of Akiko Higashimura's Gisō Furin (Disguised Adultery) manga revealed on Wednesday that Toshiki Seto (seen below) will join the cast as Fūta Yagami, a professional boxer with whom the character Yōko Yoshizawa has an affair.
Other newly announced cast members are:
- Shosuke Tanihara as Kenji Yoshizawa, Yōko's husband
- MEGUMI as Akari Bannō, Jō's older sister
- Michiko Tanaka as Masako Yamada, Shōko's best friend
- Natsuko as Erika Takano, a part-time employee at the Spanish restaurant that Akari runs
- Hiroshi Izawa as Kōichi Hama, Shōko and Yōko's father
- Mayumi Asaka as MIKIKO Hama, Shōko and Yōko's mother
The series will premiere on NTV in July.
Anne Watanabe (seen below) will star in the series as main character Shōko Hama, a part-time worker in her thirties and living with her parents. Hio Miyazawa will play Jō Bannō, a handsome 25-year-old freelance photographer who Shōko falls in love with. Yukie Nakama will play Yōko Yoshizawa, Shōko's older sister and a career-minded woman in the consulting business who falls in love with a younger man.
The manga's story begins when the protagonist goes vacationing abroad after tiring of dating, and has a "forbidden encounter" with a handsome man on the plane.
Yūma Suzuki and Seiichi Nagumo is directing the live-action series, with scripts by Rin Etou. Norihiko Nishi is credited as chief producer, and Shōshun Katō, Masahiro Mori, Kazunori Okada, and Tetsu Takei are credited as producers. Kowa International is credited for production assistance.
Higashimura launched the color web manga on the web manga site XOY in December 2017. The manga moved to the LINE Manga service in January when XOY closed on January 18. Bungei Shunju published the manga's third compiled book volume on April 25.
Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish and Tokyo Tarareba Girls have both previously inspired live-action adaptations. Kodansha Comics is releasing both manga in English.
