Both OVAs premiere on Sunday

Anime News Network's coverage of Anime Expo 2019 is sponsored by Yen Press.

Crunchyroll announced at Anime Expo on Saturday that it will stream two OVA episodes based on Natsume Akatsuki's KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! light novel series starting on Sunday.

The first OVA, episode 11 of the first season, will stream with English subtitles, an English dub, a Portuguese dub, and a Spanish dub. The second OVA, episode 11 of the second season, will stream with subtitles on Sunday. The dubbed versions will be available at a later date. Both episodes will be available for members worldwide except for Asia, Spain, Portugal, Australia, and New Zealand; and in German-, French-, Italian-, and Dutch-speaking Europe.

The original KONOSUBA (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! or KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) light novels by Natsume Akatsuki inspired two television anime seasons. The first season premiered in January 2016, and the second season premiered in January 2017. Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan, and debuted an English dub for the first season on January 15. The company stated on Saturday the second season will be available "soon." with a dub.

The Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! Kurenai Densetsu (KONOSUBA - God's blessing on this wonderful world! Crimson Legend) anime film will open in Japan on August 30.

The original light novels center on Kazuma, a shut-in student who dies in a traffic accident, but meets the goddess Aqua after death. He is given the chance to reincarnate in a fantasy world and can keep one thing with him. When he decides to choose Aqua herself, they are both transported to their new lives. The pair go on quests to earn just enough to buy food, shelter, and clothing, and eventually hire the sorceress Megumin and swordswoman Darkness, who they quickly learn are just as useless as they are.

Yen Press is releasing the original light novels and Masahito Watari's manga adaptation in English. The company has also licensed the Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spinoff novel series.
