MYTH&ROID, Riko Azuna Perform 'The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious' Anime's Theme Songs

MYTH&ROID performs opening, Riko Azuna performs ending song for October anime

Kihow, the vocalist for the MYTH&ROID music group, announced on her Twitter account on Tuesday that MYTH&ROID will perform the opening theme song "TIT FOR TAT" for the television anime adaptation of Light Tuchihi's The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (Kono Yūsha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shinchō Sugiru) novels. Riko Azuna also announced on her Twitter account on the same day that she will perform the ending theme song "be perfect, plz!" for the anime.

The "TIT FOR TAT" will be available as MYTH&ROID's 10th single on October 23, while "be perfect, plz!" will be available as Azuna's fourth single on November 6.

The anime will premiere in October. Yuichiro Umehara will play protagonist Seiya Ryūgūin, while Aki Toyosaki will play Ristarte.

Masayuki Sakoi (Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Celestial Method) is directing the anime at White Fox. Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Vinland Saga) is writing and supervising the series' scripts, and Mai Toda (Matoi the Sacred Slayer, Girls' Last Tour) is designing the characters.

The story begins when the goddess Rista summons a hero to help her hard mode video game-like world. The hero, Seiya, is exceptional in every way, but he is incredibly cautious. He does things like buy three sets of armor (one to wear, a spare, and a spare for the spare) and go full power against weak slimes (just in case).

Tsuchihi launched the novel series on the Kakuyomu website in June 2016, and Kadokawa published the first volume in print with illustrations by Saori Toyota in February 2017. The fifth volume shipped last November. Yen Press licensed the novels, and shipped the first volume on June 18.

Koyuki (Log Horizon: The West Wind Brigade) launched the manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine last November, and Kadokawa shipped the first volume on May 9.
