Yonago Gainax, Princess Maker Creator Akai Make 'Gainatamager' Sci-Fi Anime Short

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Story centers on boy who turns into hero Gainaman

Gainax co-founder and Princess Maker game series creator Takami Akai began streaming a trailer on Sunday for Yonago Gainax's science-fiction anime short "Gainatamager." The anime centers on a boy named Tarō as he transforms into the hero Gainaman. The anime short will begin streaming in December.

The cast includes Momoko Takami, Kumiko Fukahori, Kenji Kanechiku, and Aino Kuronaga. (Note: the name romanizations of some cast and staff members are not confirmed.)

Akai is directing the short at Yonago Gainax and designing the characters. Tetsuya Teranishi, Kō Matsumura, Kiyoshi Takenaka, and Akai are writing the script. Jun Tamatani (Yorozu Kōbō Tamaya) is in charge of art, and Asami Misato is composing the music. HANDSOME KENYA is performing the theme song.

The anime was previously slated to begin streaming in November, but Yonago Gainax announced on November 14 that the anime was delayed so that staff could improve its quality.

Gainaman is serving as the mascot character for Tottori-based soccer team Gainare Tottori. Akai is from the city of Yonago, Tottori.
