Scotland Loves Anime Virtual and Physical Line-Up

Virtual screenings will include numerous Lupin anime and Work in Progress items on upcoming films; also limited physical screenings in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen

The Scotland Loves Anime festival has announced the virtual and physical line-up for its event from October 25.

The virtual line-up, which will be available for a month, will include numerous Lupin the Third anime, including the three films directed by Takeshi Koike and the full series Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.

It will also include two Work in Progress sessions relating to two forthcoming films: Masaaki Yuasa's INU-OH, and the Studio Bones film Josee, The Tiger and the Fish.

The virtual screenings will be available to watch on the Screen Anime platform between October 25 (at 2 p.m.) and November 25. Each film will be introduced by Jonathan Clements, author of Anime: A History and co-author of The Anime Encyclopedia.

Anime Limited is also running a crowdfunder to support Scotland Loves Anime's physical venues, the Glasgow Film Theatre and the Edinburgh Filmhouse. The full details can be found here.

There will also be physical screenings in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, of the CG film Lupin III THE FIRST and the independent film ON-GAKU: Our Sound. (These films are not part of the virtual screenings.)

Work in Progress item on the forthcoming film Josee, The Tiger and the Fish - a 60-minute item involving Jonathan Clements, BONES' president Masahiko Minami and staff of the film.

The physical screenings will be as follows:

The CG film Lupin III THE FIRST will be shown at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on Saturday November 7 at 6 p.m; the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen on Saturday November 7 at 4.30 p.m.; and the Glasgow Filmhouse on Saturday November 14 at 4.45 p.m.

The independent film ON-GAKU: Our Sound will be shown at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on Saturday November 7 at 3.45 p.m.; the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen on Sunday November 8 at 4.30 p.m.; and the Glasgow Filmhouse on Sunday November 15 at 4.15 p.m.
