Director Chiaki Kon will also have director's talk event on same day

The Japan Foundation Manila announced on Thursday that it will host a free virtual screening of the Eiga HappinessCharge PreCure! Ningyō no Kuni no Ballerina anime film on November 10 at 11:15 a.m. GMT +8, with a virtual director's talk with director Chiaki Kon scheduled for 12:30 p.m GMT +8 on the same day. The film will also have a second screening on November 14 at 8:00 p.m.

The film opened in Japan in October 2014 as the anime film for the HappinessCharge PreCure! television anime.

The film's story is set in the Doll Kingdom where dolls dwell. In the story, the Pretty Cures are watching a doll play about to start, when the dolls suddenly start talking. "Please rescue our kingdom!" the ballerina named Tsumugi says, and she leads the Pretty Cures to the Doll Kingdom. There, the Pretty Cures thought they would be surrounded by cute stuffed animals, but instead they find a mysterious man named Black Fang who is attacking the kingdom, and he captures Tsumugi. The country normally filled with happiness is hiding a sad secret, and the Pretty Cures must help save the day.

Kon has also directed such anime as When They Cry - Higurashi, Umineko - When They Cry, Nodame Cantabile: Paris, Nodame Cantabile: Finale, Junjō Romantica (all three seasons), Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love (both seasons), and Hanasakeru Seishōnen. Most recently, she directed Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III, and is returning for the two-part Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal theatrical films.
