Kadokawa Releases Restaurant to Another World New Edition Manga

Kadokawa releases 1st chapter for free on Wednesday

Kadokawa announced on Monday that it will release the first chapter of Yamizawa and Morozawa Restaurant to Another World New Edition (Isekai Shokudō: Yōshoku no Nekoya, or Western Cuisine Restaurant Nekoya) manga on Wednesday. The manga is a new adaptation of Junpei Inuzuka and Katsumi Enami's Restaurant to Another World (Isekai Shokudo) light novel series, and is different from Takaaki Kugatsu's earlier manga adaptation in July 2017.

The first chapter will be free on Kadokawa's Book Walker Global website. The company stated that its release will catch up with the Japanese serialization in October on several online ebook stores.

The manga launched in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on April 26. The manga's first compiled book volume shipped on September 25.

Inuzuka launched the story on the Shōsetsu-ka ni Narō (literally, "Let's Become Novelists") website in 2013, and Shufunotomo's Hero Bunko imprint published the first print volume in February 2015. Inami has been drawing the illustrations. The fifth volume shipped in Japan in March 2019.

The novels inspired the first television anime that premiered in July 2017. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed a dub.

The second television anime season will premiere on the TV Tokyo channel on Friday at 25:38 (effectively, Saturday at 1:38 a.m.) before moving to its regular timeslot of 25:23 (1:23 a.m.). It will also run on TV Osaka and AT-X.

Crunchyroll also began offering simultaneous publication of Kugatsu's earlier manga adaptation in July 2017. The manga launched in November 2016 and ended in 2019.

Kadokawa previously announced in August that it will speed up its e-book translation and distribution, starting with seven of its manga, followed by three newly licensed light novels in October. The company will release many of its manga as simulpubs on the Book Walker Global online service, and it will publish light novel chapters one by one. The company noted previously it used to take 6-12 months to publish English versions of its titles.

Kadokawa stated the number of titles it plans to add to this simulpub program "is expected to exceed 100 titles soon." Kadokawa added the tiles will also be available at a few other online stores.
