Voice Talent Agency Pro Fit to End Production Operations
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Talent management agency Pro Fit announced on Thursday that it will cease production operations on March 31, 2022. The company's president Makoto Tanimura noted in the announcement that the closure is due to the company anticipating that it will "not be able to provide responsible management" for its talent stable in the near future. The agency aims to support its voice actors in transitioning to other agencies or going independent between January and March.
The announcement comes on the 18th anniversary of the company's founding.
Voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto commented on the announcement in his personal blog later in the day. He said that it would be best if a "new company" inherited Pro Fit's novices, as well as the company's voice actor training school, and that he proposed this idea to Tanimura. Okamoto noted that several Pro Fit managers are already planning to start up a separate company, and that he plans to arrange a business alliance with that company.
Pro-Fit was founded on November 4, 2003. The agency handles such voice actors as Aoi Yūki, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Kaito Ishikawa, Ai Fairouz, Ikumi Hasegawa, Shun Horie, Akari Kitō, and Shizuka Ishigami, among others.
