posted on by Andrew Osmond
Limited and standard Blu-ray released by Funimation, also new volumes of My Hero Academia, One Piece and second season of Dr. Stone

On Monday April 4, Funimation will release standard (right) and Limited (below left) Blu-ray editions of the film Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train. The Limited Edition will include a soundtrack CD, a 64-page art book with artwork by Akira Matsushima, and a subtitled commentary track on the film featuring Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro), Akari Kitō (Nezuko), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke) and Satoshi Hino (Kyojuro).

The main staff members of the television anime returned for this film, which opened in October 2020. Funimation describes the story:

"Falling forever into an endless dream... Tanjiro and the group have completed their rehabilitation training at the Butterfly Mansion, and they arrive to their next mission on the Mugen Train, where over 40 people have disappeared in a very short period of time. Tanjiro and Nezuko, along with Zenitsu and Inosuke, join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen Train on track to despair."

Funimation is also releasing My Hero Academia Season 5 Part 1 on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 89 to 100 of the series. Funimation describes the story:

"The rivalry between Class 1-A and Class 1-B heats up in a joint training battle. With wildcard Shinso competing on both sides for a shot at joining the Hero Course, this showdown might just be a toss-up."

Funimation is also releasing One Piece Uncut Collection 25 on DVD, carrying episodes 588 to 614; however, it omits episode 590, which is a crossover between One Piece, Toriko and Dragon Ball Z. Funimation describes the story:

"The lab children are suffering withdrawals, and the man responsible happens to be Law's next target. A Straw Hat and Heart Pirate alliance is in order! But their gaseous nemesis sets a slime monster hot on their trails, chasing the Straw Hats into the lab. Children rampage for candy, Monet chills Luffy to the core, and as the poison gas creeps closer, an unlikely hero could tip the scales."

Funimation is also releasing the 11-part second season of Dr. Stone, entitled Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, on Blu-ray and DVD. Funimation describes the story:

"Armed with the power of science and a genius intellect, Senku is determined to save humanity. However, Tsukasa's empire goes on the offensive to halt the progress of science. Bolder choices are made as these two start a war that rocks the Stone World."
