Ai-Kon, Manitoba's Largest Anime Convention, Announces Annual Winter Festival

WINNIPEG, MB - November 25, 2014 - Ai-Kon, Manitoba's largest Japanese animation(anime) convention, will be holding their annual Winter Festival on February 28th, 2015 at the Delta Winnipeg Hotel.

What started out as a an event to celebrate their 10 year anniversary in 2011, has continued on to become it's own smaller one day event to give anime fans a break from the winter blues. Those in attendance get a small taste of what is in store for the main event. With various festivities such as hallway costume awards, anime showings and a few panels relating to anime and japanese culture. The also features a small vendor hall with works from talented artists as well as a few anime and pop culture themed vendors, at the end of the day, at night the event wraps up with a dance party.

ABOUT AI-KON: Ai-Kon (http://www.ai-kon.org) is Manitoba's largest anime convention. An all-ages event, the goal of Ai-Kon is the promotion of Japanese/Asian animation and culture to the public. Started in 2001 by a local anime club, Ai-Kon took a reorganizing hiatus in 2002. It returned in 2003 to become an autonomous event, run by an independent volunteer committee. "Ai" means "love" in Japanese, hence Ai-Kon's slogan "For the Love of Anime".
