SaikouCon 2016 Welcomes Deprived as Musical Guest

Allentown, PA-Based band is one of two bands performing at convention's inaugral 18+ punk rock concert

6/13/16 Lake Harmony, PA – SaikouCon, which means "best convention", is the large scale, annual anime convention of the Pocono Mountains. Boasting a dedicated staff of longtime Japanese anime and manga fans, SaikouCon is excited to be the only large scale annual convention dedicated exclusively to anime, manga, and Japanese culture and pop culture in this area of Northeast Pennsylvania. The convention grew out of web magazine Anime Ate My Brain Magazine; the sibling to music focused web magazine, Tastes Like Rock! Music Magazine. Both journalistic endeavors fall under the publishing wing of Nerdy Rock 'n Roller Productions.

The convention promises to remain very hands on and attendee friendly every year, while also maintaining a safe atmosphere for attendees to enjoy the convention to their carefree fullest. As always, Cosplay =/= Consent is a very important issue to the staff of SaikouCon, and the same rules and regulations that made SaikouCon 2013, 2014, and 2015 safe havens for cosplayers will be enforced just as strictly at SaikouCon 2016. SaikouCon 2016 will feature many diverse and entertaining panels, workshops, activities, events, screenings, gaming tournaments, and much more!

Joining SaikouCon 2016 as a Musical Guest is Allentown, PA-based band,Deprived! Deprived is one of the two bands joining the first ever Saikou Punk Rock Show on SaikouCon Friday! Deprived's sound is a solid mix of Punk, Metal, Hard Rock, and a little Grunge; SaikouCon is looking forward to them helping blow the roof off their first 18+ concert at SaikouCon 2016!! Deprived is an original music band, writing their own material, but they do a few, at the Saikou Punk Rock Show they will be playing all original material. Deprived has played numerous shows and the more Deprived plays, the bigger their fan base becomes.
SaikouCon 2016's headlining band, The Adarna, will still have their all ages, solo Friday Night Concert planned, as it has been on the previous two years that the Seattle, WA-based band has performed, at 8 PM on Saikou Friday Then later in the night at 10:30 PM the 18+ Saikou Punk Rock Show, and at midnight Featured Guests Cosplay Burlesque will be closing out the night with their Super Sexy 21+ Show!! Convention chairman, Michael Meade commented on the convention's social media platforms upon the original announcement of the Saikou Punk Rock Show, “Are we excited for SaikouCon Friday?”

Also, the convention would like to remind everyone, the discounted room block Split Rock Resort is offering SaikouCon 2016 attendees is closing on July 1, 2016. The discount offer will not be extended or reopened, whether all rooms are sold or not. July 1 is the firm deadline, after that all rooms still available at Split Rock Resort will be full price. SaikouCon had it's one and only pre-registration price jump on April 8, 2016 on General Admission badges only; VIP badges are price locked until VIP pre-reg closes, VIP badges will not be available for at door registrations. SaikouCon 2016's Artist Alley is now sold out as of April 2, 2016, Vendor spaces in the Merchant Hall are still open but moving fast. Spaces for both merchants will be 8 X 5, include a table, two chairs, waste basket, and Wi-Fi access. Merchant registrations opened on January 11, 2016 and will remain open until July 1, 2016 or until both the Merchant Hall and Artist Alley are both sold out; whichever comes first. Spaces are primed to sell as fast as the record sale times set for the convention in 2015, so don't wait too long if you wish to sell at SaikouCon 2016!
