January Kyoto Event Report and New Character Announcements from "Uchouten Kazoku"
New announcements were made at the "Tanuki Gathering At The Forest Of Tadasu" held at Kyoto's World Heritage site, Shimogamo Shrine.
KYOTO, JAPAN - Jan. 12th, 2017 - Television animation series "Uchouten Kazoku," (aka "The Eccentric Family") based on the novels by Tomihiko Morimi, has announced its new characters, newly joining voice cast and music artists.
New characters appearing in season 2 of "Uchouten Kazoku" have been announced.

At the first anime event held at World Heritage site Shimogamo Shrine, "Tanuki Gathering At The Forest Of Tadasu" event, the voice of Nidaime, Joji Majima, made a guest appearance in front of the fans for the first time. Along with Majima, Tomihiko Morimi (Original Author), Takahiro Sakurai (Voice of Yasaburo), Mamiko Noto (Voice of Benten), Masayuki Yoshihara (Director), and Kenji Horikawa (Producer) made a wish for the success of "Uchōten Kazoku 2." At the event, the fans were excited at the introduction of the new characters with their visuals and voice cast information.
Opening song artist, milktub, and ending song artist, fhána, will continue to sing for season 2! At the event, the music acts for season 2, milktub and fhána, were also revealed along with video messages from the artists. In the 2013 show of "Uchouten Kazoku," the two artists provided their songs as the songs for the series, and in the 2017 show, they will return. milktub and fhána's songs will both be available from Lantis on April 26th, 2017 in Japan.

"Uchouten Kazoku" is inaugurated as the first-ever Kyoto Special Goodwill Ambassador, and along with it, the "Omoshiroki Koto Ha, Yokikotonari" (translation: A fun historic city is a good thing) campaign has begun! At the above event, the Mayor of Kyoto, Daisaku Kadokawa, made an announcement that "Uchouten Kazoku" is inaugurated as Kyoto Special Goodwill Ambassador, a newly created position to strengthen the brand of Kyoto and increase tourism. The fact that the animated show has served as a medium to spread the appeal of Kyoto, also strengthen the brand of Kyoto, and resulted in the increase in visitors to Kyoto, has contributed to this inauguration. The Kyoto Special Goodwill Ambassador poster is scheduled to be displayed across the city of Kyoto.
With the inauguration as Kyoto Special Goodwill Ambassador, the "Omoshiroki Koto Ha, Yokikotonari" (translation: A fun historic city is a good thing) campaign has begun. In this campaign, the characters of "Uchouten Kazoku" will introduce Kyoto at various locations across Japan. As the first campaign, "Uchouten Kazoku Train" will be in operation in collaboration with the Eizan Train, which also appears numerous times in Tomihiko Morimi's works. Eizan Train and "Uchouten Kazoku" are planning other collaborations as well.

Collaboration Details: Eizan Train's "Komorebi," a 2-car train, will be decorate with various arts from "Uchouten Kazoku."

“Uchōten Kazoku 2” Ceremony to wish for its success, “Tanuki gathering at Forest of Tadasu” Event report! At the World Heritage site, Shimogamo Shrine, the first anime event ever to be held, “Uchōten Kazoku 2” event “Tanuki gathering at Forest of Tadasu” has ben held.
