WARPs UP Cover Lambsey Mega-hit ‘Planet’ in Chinese, With Arrangement by Lambsey Member Shinjiroh Inoue
LANGYI and MINGJUN from Japanese-Chinese boys collective WARPs UP have released 'PLANET (LANGYI & MINGJUN ver.)', the final track in their trilogy of acoustic covers, on Tuesday, September 14.

Released just before the onset of fall, the final entry in this trilogy is a Chinese-language cover of ‘PLANET’ by Japanese artist Lambsey. The song was reignited as a hit in China in 2018, 12 years after its original release, when it suddenly went viral on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok – a buzz that has yet to wane.
The new version was arranged by Shinjiroh Inoue – a member of Lambsey, who released the song originally – and centers on an incredible new guitar performance by Inoue himself. Also check out the Chinese lyrics translated by singer Long Meng Rou, which are flavored with the bittersweet taste of youth.
The previous release in the trilogy, 'Planetarium (LANGYI & MINGJUN ver.)', featured beautiful harmonies and gentle Chinese lyrics. It was highly praised, with comments such as, “I like the original, but this is a great cover,” and, “It made me cry”. Meanwhile, Ai Ōtsuka, the artist who had a hit with the original ‘Planetarium’, commented, “It's such an amazing version, it's hard to believe it's a cover!”
A music video was also set for Premiere release on YouTube on September 14 at 22:15 JST.

This summer trilogy of acoustic covers is a special series of releases in which the two Chinese members of WARPs UP have selected three songs that are close to their hearts, and recorded them with mostly Chinese lyrics.
