The Anime Expo 2023 Event Report for 'Mecha-Ude' Has Arrived

The Anime Expo 2023 event report for "Mecha-Ude" has arrived, and the first promotional video, which was unveiled at the panel event, is now available on YouTube! Hiroshi Matsuyama of CyberConnect2 (".hack", "NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja" video game series) also participated as general supervisor. The TV anime series has been confirmed to broadcast in 2024!

On the morning of July 3rd (Monday), Japanese time, a panel event for "Mecha-Ude" was held at Anime Expo 2023 in Los Angeles.

First, the first episode of the TV anime "Mecha-Ude" was screened as a world premiere, and the audience was very excited. Director and original creator, Okamoto, animation producer Shūichi Asō, and producer Tetsuya Kinoshita appeared on stage amidst the enthusiasm of the audience, who were absorbed by the beautiful visuals.

"Mecha-Ude" started as a project from an American crowdfunding service, and the team expressed their joy and gratitude for being able to hold the premiere screening in America. Director Okamoto, who is directing a series for the first time, spoke about the challenges and pleasures of producing the work.

Then, it was announced that there was another never-before-seen video, and the first promotional video started to roll. The audience was left breathless by the high-quality visuals that resembled movie trailers, which generously used scenes from beyond the first episode that was screened earlier. Applause and cheers erupted as it concluded with the words "Begins 2024".

In this promotional video, the staff and cast were also revealed for the first time. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is in charge of series composition, Terumi Nishi and Yoko Uchida are responsible for character design, and Nurikabe is doing the design and concept art for Mecha-Ude. The music team includes Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO, who have worked on series like "Attack on Titan" and "Gundam", and DAIKI. Hiroshi Matsuyama of CyberConnect2, known for the video games of ".hack", "NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja" and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" series, also participated as general supervisor.

The cast includes Toshiyuki Toyonaga as the hero, Hikaru, Tomokazu Sugita as Hikaru's Mecha-Ude, Alma, and Yu Shimamura as the heroine, Aki, all continuing their roles from the crowdfunding-produced pilot. It was also announced that Romi Park will be reprising her role as Kagami, and Yūichi Nakamura will return as Fist.

The excitement for "Mecha-Ude" is mounting as we head towards the series release in 2024. We look forward to sharing further updates.
