Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island launched in Japan earlier this year on January 25, 2024, and set a record for the series by reaching 200,000 units shipped domestically. *As of February 6, 2024. Includes physical shipments and digital sales.

New Features Make Dungeon Exploration More Enjoyable
For a smoother and more enjoyable experience, this latest installment of Shiren the Wanderer provides a range of player-friendly features so players can fully immerse themselves in the game world. Track your own steps on a mini-map, assign up to four projectiles and magic Staves to a hotbar for easy access, and "Handy Dash" to move quickly and easily throughout the dungeon.
Enhanced Live Display Mode
Enhanced Live Display Mode neatly presents information, such as character stats and inventory, on a single screen—perfect for streaming gameplay. Players can see details like Runes on Weapons and Shields and the items stored in Pots. Choose from two screen options to best suit your needs: a standard view with all essential information, and a simplified view.
New Rescue Options: Aid and Rescue Self
Rescue allows players to save other players who have collapsed in a dungeon, or to be rescued by others when they themselves have collapsed. If the rescue is successful, the fallen player can resume play without losing any belongings or Gitan (money). On a single dungeon challenge, players can issue up to three rescue requests. Additionally, the room where the rescued player is found will be turned into a monster house, where a number of monsters will appear.*
Share Data with Other Players Using Parallel Play
Parallel Play is a feature that allows players to upload saved data (parallel data) created at any point during a dungeon adventure to the server, enabling other players to continue the challenge. By uploading the created parallel data to the server and sharing the issued Parallel ID, other players can challenge the dungeon under the same circumstances and conditions, providing a fairer way to compete. In addition, since parallel data can be created and shared even in the middle of Parallel Play, multiple players can enjoy a relay-style dungeon adventure. Please note that even if you clear a dungeon in Parallel Play, you cannot bring back the items and Gitan obtained.*

About Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island
After receiving a vision of a mysterious girl held captive by a terrible monster, Shiren and Koppa make their way to Serpentcoil Island—a distant isle rumored to be the lost stronghold of treasure-hoarding pirates.
To brave the many dangers that await them, Shiren and Koppa must traverse complex dungeons filled with hostile monsters, hidden traps, and useful items. All the gear and experience Shiren accumulates will be lost if he collapses during exploration, so beware of rushing in unprepared! Rescue the mysterious girl and uncover the mystery that clouds Serpentcoil Island.
The forthcoming release for Nintendo Switch marks the series' latest mainline entry to come to the West since Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate was released on PlayStation®Vita in 2016 and then on Nintendo Switch in 2020. While preserving the traditional gameplay, this installment introduces new elements and 3D graphics to create a fresh and exciting adventure.
About the Shiren the Wanderer Series
Shiren the Wanderer series of roguelike RPG games began with the 1995 release of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the Super Famicom in Japan. Players venture into a "Mystery Dungeon" that changes each time they enter. To succeed, they need to rely on their wits, experience, and creative thinking to overcome monsters, avoid perilous traps, and conquer the dungeon. Players who run out of energy during their journey will lose all of their possessions including items, money, and gear, and must start again at level one. Players will experience a thrilling and tense adventure with unexpected events and risks that cannot be redone.
