Wow, when I posted my little Adult Swim rant last week I was thrown for a bit of a loop - people actually defended Adult Swim's business decisions, not necessarily out of fanboyish love, but for purely rational and educated reasons.
More of a reason, then, that all you guys who read this site should be darn proud of yourselves - that sort of reasoned logic would certainly not be present at Adult Swim's own forums, or practically any other big anime discussion group out there. Kudos and a big, piping hot plate of delicious homemade cookies for all!*

I didn't think last week's Shin Chan season premiere to be quite as amusing as previous episodes, but it was still (WARNING: FLAMEWAR BAITING AHEAD) leagues better, I think, than that repetitive and dull Family Guy-Star Wars parody. And half the length! Nonetheless, I'm still up for more Shin Chan goodness, and so are all of you I'd bet. Maybe?

I don't live in Canada, so Canadian TV listings are always a tricky thing. Perhaps, though, I could buy some kind of satellite to receive it here in The Desert, America? That would probably be highly illegal, however, and would no doubt require a satellite dish the size of Rhode Island, and would need to be jerry-rigged with some kind of lost alien technology and swiped black-market weaponry, leading to my eventual and highly publicized death being gunned down by a SWAT team flown in by helicopter as I'm leaving Safeway with a jug of green tea and two boxes of Cheez-Its. But, G4TechTV is showing anime shows on Anime Current! Probably.

So, this Bakugan thing... it's cards, but also marbles? You play the marbles on the playing cards, which have Magic: The Gathering-like effects on your hit points or somesuch? This sounds like a complete subversion and perversion of the wholesome fun of simply playing with some gosh-damned marbles. Clearly, though, I'm not one of those savvy 30-something marketing types who know what 6-11 year old boys are into, so my opinion matters naught.

Apparently, there is a mild bit of discussion going on over the censorship of this show: One of the main characters is having her once-ample cleavage digitally reduced in every scene. That sounds a bit excessive, but I certainly hope they've hired the man responsible for doing the same thing to Lindsay Lohan's breasts in the awful Herbie remake a few years ago. I can't imagine he's had much luck in the field of Photoshop boob-reduction since Disney figured that they shouldn't allow a syphilitic walking disaster star in kids movies.

Hey, this reminds me of a horrifying, hideously disgusting nightmare I had once that has haunted me ever since that you probably don't want to hear about! I was strapped in an uncomfortable, splintery chair in a dark room with only a tiny, pale light shining down upon a big metal bowl in my lap. In as painful and graphic way as possible, each one of my teeth was separately plucked from my mouth, tossed into the bowl, and then were blended into a thick, boney milkshake, which I was then forced to drink. I was forced to drink a milkshake made of my own teeth. According to the Dream Moods Dream Dictionary, this means that "...your health and/or business is in jeopardy. You may have uttered some false or foul words and those words are coming back to haunt you." Which, you know, I may have called somebody a jerk once. Huh.
