Cipher (OAV) Not really good
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Not really good Code Geass is ridiculous. Absurd. Ludicrous. It's story is weak. It's characters are uncharismatic. It's plot devices are over-the-top weird. The mecha action is wasted. Yet, somehow, it's entertaining. It's not great by any measure, but there's something about the setup and execution that makes you not want to look away from it.
Comic Party (TV) So-so
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Masterpiece (dub & sub) A stellar series. Perhaps the most representative of what anime can accomplish, Cowboy Bebop is both entertaining and provocative. While it oozes "cool", it's not merely all style. It's a rousing jazzy ballad of the bizarre and the sorrowful. It's a must see for anyone.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Masterpiece (dub & sub) A great companion piece to the television series. Captures the flavor of Cowboy Bebop in a one-off that feels like a single episode type story but is on a grander scale that suits a movie. Fans of the series shouldn't miss it.
Coyote Ragtime Show (TV) Decent
Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi o Yobu Mōretsu! Otona Teikoku no Gyakushū (movie 9) Good
Crusher Joe: The Movie So-so
Crusher Joe: The OVA's
Cyber City Oedo 808 (OAV) Awful Only worth watching for its hilariously bad dub. "Sit on it and spin!"
Darker than Black (TV) Good
Death Note (live-action movie) Decent Not as comprehensive or engaging as the manga, but not an altogether terrible adaptation. It has its strong points in the performances of the live-action version of L and the faithfulness to the original source.
Death Note (TV) Good An engaging cat-and-mouse game of wits between two minds (and then eventually more), Death Note compensates for a lack of strong concept or character development with a back and forth duel of reasoning. The second "act" stumbles on take-off, but by the time the flight is over, it was worth it. Not as complete as the manga it is based on, but still a rather good recent title, well worth watching.
Death Note: The Last Name (live-action movie) Decent Providing a different and more compact end to the story of Death Note, The Last Name can seen as both superior in its sense of faithfulness of spirit to the source (if not to the letter of the source) or as a debasement of the compexities of the manga. Still, it was a decent effort, for live-action Japanese cinema.
Dimension W (TV) Weak
(The) Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (movie) Very good
Dominion Tank Police (OAV) Good
Dragon Ball (TV) So-so (dub), Decent (sub) The original adventures of Goku and his friends (and enemies) is colorful, humorous, and exciting, as well, and makes for a pretty fun watch. It's hard to judge it as its own series, though, because it's just the first part of a bigger story.
Dragon Ball Movie 1: Curse of the Blood Rubies So-so
Dragon Ball Movie 3: Mystical Adventure So-so
