Show Notes:

The animated backgrounds didn't get done in time for this week's show. Hopefully next week. Until then, it will still say "anime" and "manga" behind Mario and Ellie, regardless of whether what they're talking about is, in fact, manga or anime.

The podcast feeds are up, although Apple hasn't approved them yet for inclusion into iTunes. (That's what we get for submitting during the week of Macworld Expo.) In the mean time, you can manually add the podcast into your iTunes Podcast directory by doing the following:

  • Load iTunes
  • Under the "Advanced" menu, choose "Subscribe to Podcast..."
  • Cut and paste the following URL, and hit OK:

  • Video version: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ann-tv/rss.xml?podcast=video
    Audio version: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ann-tv/rss.xml?podcast=audio

We hope you enjoy this week's interview with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya voice actresses Aya Hirano, Yuko Goto and Minori Chihara. Note that this feature is subtitled, so that makes the audio version of the podcast a little difficult to enjoy this week. We thought about cutting it, knowing any attempt to narrate English over it would both defeat the purpose of interviewing voice actors and turn out very disturbing (having only male staff on hand), and in our indecision we kind of just left it as-is. How should we handle stuff like this in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the forum.

    Covered this week:

  • GTO's Tohru Fujisawa to start Unhappy! manga series
  • Emma, Chibi Vampire, Idolmaster manga ending in Japan
  • Fushigi Yuugi's Watase draws Pandora Cube 1-shot manga
  • Shonen Ace posts Cloverfield movie tie-in manga online
  • Gainax Co-founder's "Sinking of Japan" comes to UK DVD
  • Bandai Visual USA gets Haruka anime series
  • Brave Story translated novel award
  • Oshii to take guest post at Tokyo Keizai University
  • Be sure and check out next week's episode, which will feature the first installment of our first Video Column, featuring Mike Toole, formerly of AnimeJump.com.
