Yer... I get the feeling it will be a bit to crude for my tastes too.

Funi will probably license it. Yeah. Probably soon.

What makes you say that?

It's a Kadokawa series, so probably going to be Crunchyroll. And they've gotten some such series (The Testament of Sister New Devil) over FUNi even before that deal was announced.

Because it seems like a hybrid of Highschool DxD and Dragonar Academy, two of their recent licenses in the last five years that have seen limited set releases. I'm also thinking of Mermaid, although that one hasn't been released yet. Aniplex seems to have Asterisk War in the grey area even as Funi streams it. Although...Sentai got Highschool of the Dead, so it in reality it could go anywhere. Full disclousure: I am not a fan of any of these shows, but they do sell and fill a particular criteria about their fanservice/high school genre. Magic/supernatural school, harem, and the groping, although this time with mecha...

Between Funi, Sentai, and Aniplex, I would put more money on Funi licensing as many crowd--drawing shows as they can in the next year because they seem to be clearing out a lot of their back catalog. Sentai did get Cross Ange and Aniplex has been quiet lately, but that Funimation sale on RightStuf was epic.

And if it goes to Crunchy, any of those companies can make a smarter decision on how well the show will do for home release. I'm not an expert, but that's my opinion at least.
