I will definitely be picking up Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer on blu-ray. One of my favorite anime movies of all time.

Arcadia of My Youth and both Lupin titles for me. Since they must be busy with getting Red Jacket out, I wasn't really expecting more Lupin, least of all two. I'm a bit bummed that they skipped straight to Island of Assassins since I was looking forward to Dragon of Doom, however.

Whoever keeps score of these things… is Discotek winning Otakon this year? That's a great bunch of announcements.

I'm definitely in for Arcadia Of My Youth, which I haven't seen since the VHS days.

About time I'll be able one of my all-time top anime films, Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer, on Blu-Ray. (It used to be my absolute favourite but that was before The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya was released so now "favourite" is "flip a coin" status.) I honestly thought that I'd have to import it.

The article, about Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer wrote:
Central Park Media released the film on VHS in 1993 and later on DVD in 2004.

There was also the not-particularly-great DVD release from 1998 that CPM/US Manga Corps released through Image. The version that had the Sci-Fi Network truncated credits.

Beautiful Dreamer on BD? Yes please. That's nothing short of a masterpiece and deserves the treatment.

Arcadia of My Youth on Blu? Done and done.

Beautiful Dreamer on Blu? Sold sold sold!

Now I figure I just have to sit here and wait for all of Urusei Yatsura to be released on Blu. I figure it'll happen aaaaaany minute now.

Any minute...

I love Discotek, but come on, Lupin the Third (2015) part 1 is being released in the UK on November 14, 2016, so pick up the rights & release it! I preordered it from amazon.co.uk, but I will purchase & support anyone who releases it in the US which I hope is Discotek.

Never thought I'd see a rescue for any UY anime. Now if only the 200-ep TV series, the OVAs, and the rest of the movies could be rescued. Very unlikely, though... Rolling Eyes

Discotek strikes again !!! pretty much the only USA anime publisher i actively follow buy almost everything from !!!
If they where to go down i would have a hard time making up my monthly Amazon.com import order like i might even give up on it.
They even got some obscure as hell series from 1973 again !!! although what i really want is more Tezuka stuff that was never released before like Dororo.
But they recently got one series they are only gonna do streaming that's not what i actually want ... Discotek seems a stable company cause they build up reputation and following which would let me to believe they can just release about anything at this point, as long as hey don't do to many arguable titles at at once.

Wish i could say the same thing about just manga publisher in the USA (right now) ... the closest equivalent of that used to be Vertical inc but they have moved from that years ago ... Sad also DMP is not doing so hot right now even with the Tezuka manga ...

Okay, first of all, Beautiful Dreamer is my favorite film of all time. I am BEYOND excited to see it come out and even on Blu-ray!! I will go out of my way to import it right after it releases. Can't, freaking, wait!

Arcadia of My Youth is also a very stunning movie. Gotta love Harlock, man. Will definitely buy as well on Blu-ray.

And of course, more Lupin III specials. Operation Return the Treasure was a very enjoyable one, I'd recommend it to any Lupin fan. Island of Assassins was also pretty good.
Again, wil ltry and pick those up soon after they release.

Discotek, you guys are gods to me. I want Beautiful Dreamer already!

I would normally be very excited about 5cm on bluray, but without the ADV dub, it will always feel like it's missing something. The Bang Zoom isn't bad. It's just just a bit disappointing compared to the one first created for it.
