Really, the E7 movie was a big hit?? And E7:Oww was super popular? If they didn't learn from those then I'm afraid for the brand with what they may do here. At least Dai Sato is in, so maybe there's a chance because without him, I'd boycott this...

I know many consider Eureka 7 as one of the best animes of the 2000s, but I really did not like the latter half of the original anime. The first half was great, yet I really hope that all the changes they make, it will mostly be towards the last half.

Well all these ads for EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION that spare no expense to remind us the title is EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION over and over again, even within this EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION advertorial are surely working, because EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION is a title that is sticking in my Eureka head Seven all day Hi long Evolution.
Yeah, hopefully it comes out OK. It seems like they've been trying to recapture the magic for a while now and it's never stuck. Third time's the charm? Three times? |

Indeed this is the main area in which changes would be most welcomed. An adventurous character drama reconfiguring itself into a grand power struggle comes at a significant (if perhaps not ruinous) cost. It could be worse, as those who endured AO seem to tell us... |

I'm with ya. First half is unbeatable. Dewey was a bottom tier villain thrown into an otherwise good word. Vastly complex and interesting characters increasing faced off against what was essentially a Captain Planet villain. |

Sorry for the heresy: I liked E7: Ao more than the original. E7 never came off as that a great a love story for me and I found both the protagonists and antagonists either uninspired or just dull. E7: Ao went in crazy directions, particular in the second half, but it just felt brighter, more enthusiastic, and exciting. I'm hoping these films fix up the original.

That can't possibly be right can it? Unless they're counting worldwide sales of each released volume, it seems off by a factor of 10. I didn't look up all of the releases, but Vol. 4 debuted at #8 on the BD ranking in Japan with ~3000 (which isn't bad, but hardly YOI numbers). With 12 volumes, generously assuming 7,000 BD+DVD sales, that clocks in around 84,000. At any rate, to me it's always seemed misleading when touting popularity to total up individual disk sales rather than sales of the complete series. It's also difficult to compare international releases which have fewer disks and fewer releases per title. |

The original TV series was for my money one of the most finely-crafted anime series ever created, and without a doubt the most emotionally-satisfying viewing experience I've ever had. I've never seen either the movie or AO, and from everything I've heard about them I feel perfectly satisfied in keeping things that way. I'm incredibly skeptical that this new project will be able to recapture the magic of the original, but at the very least the fact that Dai Sato is once again involved gives me some degree of hope.
