For today's poll, could we possibly bump the maximum choices to five instead of three? I have a couple more favorites from 2007.

What, no Vividred hotpants (and I'm sure we've had a similar list and I've said something similar already..)
One design feature that bugs me, in the line of the sort of overdesign as in 11 eyes etc., is the herniating boob, where there is some sort of outer piece of fabric that fits around the chest area from underneath and extenuates it. Darned if I can remember any specific examples right now. |

For 20 years ago Pokemon and Slayers Try were the only shows that I liked enough to vote for.
10 years ago it was just Lucky Star. I have no problem with the uniforms from Stellvia. They look fine to me. |

Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor I think follows the hallowed footsteps of the girl's uniforms in this article and I'd put them at about #1! Bare midriff with not one but two sets of suspenders and a micro-top just to squash the melons? These look horrible and are almost anti-functional.
^Edit: Damn!! Blood- beat me to it.... The 20yr survey was interesting, there was a veritable explosion in the offerings 1997 vs 2007 but for me there was only one show in each time period that I liked, so it would seem the extra effort was wasted on me. Only one or two shows from each of those seasons that I've actually watched in full, so those were easy votes. And Gurren Lagann is ten years old now? Where does the time go?
You should definitely run those 10/20-year polls again next spring, though. Spring 1998 had three all-time classics premiering within a week of each other (Bebop, Trigun, and Cardcaptor Sakura), and Spring 2008 can have itself a nice five-way brawl between the Soul Eater, Code Geass (R2), Macross (Frontier), Vampire Knight, and To Love-Ru fanbases. |

Oh you're definitely not alone on the odd ties in Nisekoi, Lynzee. I found them especially weird as well considering Naoshi Komi has the best everyday outfits for his characters I've probably ever seen. They are unique and generally have great fashion sense.

Well, the article refers to outfits from the past(I think);
But if there's a new poll sometime in the future, no doubt Akashic Records of Bastard Magical Instructor will surely be a top contender for the rankings.

I voted for Utena and Darker than Black in the new poll. That was a cool exercise; I hope we see similar polls at the start of each season.

Me, too. The 2006-2007 period remains my favorite of all time because of the diversity of shows on offer. My choices, Dennou Coil, Moribito, and Oh! Edo Rocket, are all very different from each other and unlike any shows in recent memory. |

I think Highschool DxD's uniforms deserve a shoutout. Those things are designed for fan service. Outside of the ridiculously short skirts, every part of them is designed to make the breasts more prominent. The horizontal lines, the unnecessary corset (on the outside), and the boob socks. Though there might be a flair of elegance, they look weird.

Because of old grudges (and the divisive "It's a sci-f! It's a sitcom!" culture-wars), I fear mine will be the only '97 vote for Tenchi in Tokyo. 
But then, I was one of the few who watched past Ep. 6, and watched the series's mid-stream do-over get better. And I thought the article was going to be on specific show designs, and didn't know where to categorize Card Captor Sakura's uniforms. |
