Wow, LOTS of characters. Good designs too, as expected from Tiv. But yeah, for real, I hope they don't over do it on the characters.

I feel that the biggest money shot they need to nail is making the racing scenes really fun and dynamic to watch. Also they need to nail the character interactions akin to all those popular sports shows.
